Chairman of Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Rasaki Bamidele Kasali, has presented official cars to members of the legislature.

The gesture, Kasali said, was to aid and motivate the legislators in carrying out their primary duties, particularly their oversight function.

Presenting the keys to beneficiaries, the council boss recalled how the councillors have been supportive and understanding in their dealings.

He challenged them to discharge their duties even more diligently, promising to ensure that all his campaign promises will be fulfilled.

Kasali made it known that the official cars would have been purchased a long time ago, but due to needs assessment and other priorities, the purchase was put on hold to meet up with some urgent yearnings of the people.

He noted that the purchase of the vehicles won’t affect other projects to be embarked on by the council.

He affirmed that the council is going to embark on more projects that will have direct and indirect impact on the lives of the people.

The council boss said his administration has done well in the areas of education, security, health, staff welfare, empowerment, environment, electricity, infrastructure, and Information Communication Technology (ICT).

According to him, lack of vehicles had impeded the activities and programmes of the legislators.

The councilors promised to take things to the next level.

Leader of the House, Monsuru Ola said: “This is quite impressive from the Chairman. We know him to be a man of his words, who takes his job seriously. This will help us to be more flexible, prompt and mobile in carrying out our legislative function.”
